The Hungarian Horntail is one of the four dragons to be involved in the first task of the Triwizard Tournament. Before the task begins the dragon is being kept in an enclosure near the Forbidden Forest. When Harry arrives at the enclosure with Hagrid and Madame Maxime, the dragon is being restrained by seven or eight men, held by chains connected to heavy leather straps around its neck and legs. Its eyes bulge with either fear or rage, and it makes a horrible noise - a yowling, screeching scream. That particular Hungarian Horntail has been known to shoot fire at a range of forty feet, with the other dragons able to reach at least twenty feet. The back end of the Hungarian Horntail is as dangerous as its front; long, bronze-coloured spikes protrude from the dragon's tail every few inches.
