In a desperate attempt to save himself in battle, he made a deal with Ares, the god of war, pledging his allegiance in exchange for power. However, the gods tricked Kratos into killing his own wife and daughter, leading him to harbor an intense hatred for them.

Consumed by rage and seeking redemption, Kratos embarks on a quest for vengeance against the gods.
