Southern Norfolk Bogie - truck

Southern Norfolk Bogie - truck 3D model

Description

A bogie is a frame, placed under the trains, onto which the wheels of the railway vehicle are fixed. As bogies are mobile in relation to the frame of the vehicle itself, they can notably be used to facilitate movement on curved tracks. Each bogie is a 4-wheeled or 6-wheeled truck that provides the support for the vehicle body and which is used to provide its traction and braking. Each carriage (called a car in North America and some other English speaking countries and still so called in the electric traction business) has two bogies.

The Norfolk engine bogie is unique in it suspension system which utilizes a series of cross mounted, leaf springs in the bolster box as opposed to the standard coil springs used in nearly every other bogie syste.

This model is a version 1 series and incorporates materials only. No time has been put into texturing or mapping it. As such you can add your own textures or mapping or use it in its flat condition at discount. Ver2.0 will be available soon and will incorporate the additional texturing time and be priced higher.

This model comes as three seperate pieces. The right bogie, the right transmissions, the left bogie and transmissions and the turntable. As such it is adjustable to your track width. A track will also be available in the near future.
