Description

PM 36-1. Speedy steam engine of Polish construction from 1937. Equipped with an aerodynamic cover, it was lost during World War II. The main constructor was prof. Kazimierz Zembrzuski. The locomotive was intended as a high-speed steam engine for pulling light express trains at high speed (up to 140 km / h). This locomotive received a gold medal at the Exhibition of Techniques and Art in Paris in 1937. During World War II, the steam engine was taken over by German authorities and was still used. The circumstances of ending its exploitation have not been precisely determined. According to some sources, it was scrapped during the war, and according to German sources, it was captured by Soviet troops in 1945 and sent to the USSR, where it was to be scrapped in 1952.
