DESCRIPTION

Object 770 - experienced heavy tank Object 770 was developed on the basis of the new units in 1958 in Chelyabinsk Bureau under the leadership of PP Isakov.

Motor installation Object 770 has been developed on the basis of the diesel engine V-2 under the direction of D. Chudakov.

In contrast to the Object 277 this tank was created on the basis of the new units and has a number of original design solutions. The thickness of the frontal armor shell - 120 mm, the tower - 290 mm.

The armament consisted of a 130 mm gun M-65 with two-plane stabilizer Thunderstorm and gun KPVT. Ammunition - 26 artvystrelov and 250 rounds of ammunition. Engine 10-cylinder, four-stroke diesel DST-10 (1000 l. With.) With water cooling. The crew consisted of 4 persons. The tank was equipped with a system of protection against weapons of mass destruction, fire alarms, termodymovoy equipment, night vision devices and directional gyro.
