alphabit2020-05-25 13:39:37 UTCThis is my 2nd cockpit now. I was already happy and impressed with the first one, which I used in a VR Space prototype to my (almost) full satisfaction.
This goes one step further now, and is more flexible by allowing to (at least) easily customize the 3 main screen panels (unfortunately not all, but that can be done to a certain extend with some work).
I'm using it with the Unreal Engine and I'm working again on a new 6 DOF prototype.
Sitting in the cockpit in VR with some multilayered fancy panels is simply amazing.
I also put some rain material layer on the glasses... I feel like in a blade runner movie now xD
When I think "Cockpit" I think "Vattalus".
Great work again, worth every penny. I'll certainly will come back to you.

I have integrated this into my VR UE4 project, and it works wonderfully. I had previously been using the VattalusAssets "Sci Fi Light Fighter Cockpit VR". While very good, I had to modify that model a fair bit to increase cockpit visibility (I lowered the dash), cut out the side screens so that I can use them like the main screen, and also had to move several pieces around to make it feel like your body fit properly in VR.
Those issues have all been addressed in this model. Visibility is good, my body fits properly with the stick/throttle around where my hands rest at my sides, room for my legs, and the main screens are all independent. This model is also easier to integrate into a ship since the outside is angular as opposed to rounded. The only slight negative is that the tiny screens throughout the cockpit are all just part of the texture. I will have to cut them out in order to make them usable like the main screens. Not a big deal though.
