Description

The International Space Station: the largest structure ever assembled in space, the most complex research facility in human history, and the focus of most of the world's human spaceflight programs for over twenty years. Dozens of distinct pressurized and unpressurized modules provided by a wide variety of nations and commercial enterprises, and serviced by a similarly wide variety of international and commercial crew and cargo vehicles.

This is likely the highest-detail model of the ISS on the market. Every major module is present, including recent additions such as the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module, Bishop airlock, International Docking Adapters, iROSA panels, Nauka, and Prichal. Even minor details like handrails, grapple fixtures, and bolts are included (level of detail varies by module, but improvements continue).

The model is fully modular, and features the following articulations:

  • Canadarm and the European Robotic Arm are fully movable
  • Solar Alpha and Beta rotary joints
  • Nauka and Zvezda solar arrays rotate
  • Radial Active Common Berthing Mechanisms can be toggled between open and closed-flap configurations
  • Prichal's radial docking ports can be toggled between covered and uncovered configurations
  • Mobile Base System and CETA carts can slide along their track
  • Cupola window covers are individually movable
  • Z1 truss antennas and fluid cable tray are movable

Includes interiors for the Tranquility, Harmony, Kibo, and Cupola modules

Like all my models, this model will continue to be updated. I use this model regularly for my own work and am constantly improving it to add more detail and account for changes in the real-life ISS's configuration.

Added Bartolomeo module. Material and shared component (eg docking ports, handrails, grapple fixtures) improvements across all modules. Greater use of instancing to reduce file size and enable easier editing

December 26 2022: Greatly improved detail on ELC-1 and ELC-4 models. New FRAM model. New Ammonia Tank Assembly model. Minor detailing and texturing improvements throughout (note: Preview images and non-Blender files have not yet been updated for this yet, coming soon)
