The Ion Cannon Frigates have served in the CDF for many years. The CDF Excelsior usually operates a 9 man crew which comprises of command staff, engineers, gunners, scientists and medics. The frigate is armed with 2 quad plasma turrets which are ideal for taking out fighters and 2 powerful Ion Canons which can quickly destroy frigates and larger ships in numbers. Each turret is controlled manually by one gunner and both Ion beams are controlled by a single gunner.

This is a highly detailed spaceship model which comes complete with textures jpeg format. The ship has a twin docking bay at the lower front of the ship which houses its only 2 Airlocks, these are used for crew and supply transfers. The bridge section is at the front of the ship and engineering at the rear. It has numerous thrusters at the rear of the ship so it can navigate quickly and easily, It also has a reverse thruster at the front of the ship. A little bit smaller than the support frigate, the Ion Cannon frigate is very quick and packs quite a punch. The model is 252k polys. Included are all jpg textures. The Model is compatible with 3ds max 2012, Poser, Vue 8 and above & .obj software.
