INCOMPLETE

Photogrammetric model of Ceres, the largest of the Dwarf Planets.

When discovered, Ceres was considered a planet then was downgraded to being called an asteroid. Then recently, it was pulled back to its feet and given the proper distinction of Minor Planet.

Ceres resides in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter and holds roughly 1/3rd of the belt's mass. Crazy, right? Think of Star Wars and asteroid belts and there should be millions of cruise-ship sized rocks crashing into one another constantly but nope. In fact, the four largest bodies in the asteroid belt hold a little over half the stuff there. So I'm sorry, there are no giant asteroid-worms, there's just a planet that made people think it was an asteroid.

This obviously isn't a complete model, there are gaps because this is done with images from the higher-altitude HAMO orbits and some places weren't imaged well enough.

I'll updating it using imagery from the lower-altitude LAMO orbits and filling the poles soon. Once that's done, I'll move onto coloring it properly.

This model is created with 3DF Zephyr v4.302 processing 1152 images
