DESCRIPTION

This is a Model that used to be on an old NASA 3D Model Archive at their website originally, that particular page is no longer available but you can still find the models posted elsewhere if you look hard enough. Ive had the model for years and totally restructured it, It had so many problems it really wasn't worth downloading, but I made it my own model and I heavily modified this thing quite a bit, THIS SCENE IS NOT SLOW IN THE VIEWER with a GTX 1080 all the way down to a GTX 680, tested on all of my computers that make up a small render farm.... I wanted more realism for a project I had to do so...... I added to it.... as well, took away from it ;) I tracked down the original colors that were used on Cassini before it was covered in gold foil, I didn't want that foil on it so I left took it off for this animation short.... The recolor is not exact but the actual colors itself are pretty damned close... Materials are Standard exported from Maya 2017 and finished off in Cinema 4D R19 This is a short 'staged animation at 60 FPS that I rendered out from C4D as an .MP4 ( so glad they added the ability in R 19 ) and pieced it together with many others in Premier Pro. I split the poly into multiple objects so I could work on them independently and left them split up.... , I revamped the solar panel texture as the original one was not up to my state of 'liking it', it didn't look real at all. The panels where mis - shapened and out of place as well as other objects, I ran some 'untriangulate' commands on some problem areas, I aligned the normals and corrected the mesh the best I could for the amount of time I had, did a few subdivide commands and added some nurbs in various places... I did not do Current State to object that I added nurbs to, I did not go into it to make it perfect, you will find problem areas but it is light years better then it was to begin with and I spent a good amount of time on it. Its good enough to use in a Animation project for sure ;)
