Our ancient pre-human ancestor, Homo Erectus, populated Southern Europe about 1.4 million years ago and evolved into Neanderthal and modern humans. I built this model by superimposing the head on a front, side, and top photographs of a Homo Erectus Skull. Homo Erectus had a body shape almost like modern humans so I simply modified a regular body mesh to build the body. Based on the evidence available to me this is my best guess as to what he probably looked like. This character is a Homo Erectus adult male who was the alpha male of his small tribe. This old man and his tribe lived in Southern Europe about 1 million years ago. He is armed with a spear made from a maple tree sapling and ground to a needle-sharp point. Although not quite a good as a stone tipped spear which would come hundreds of thousands of years later, this hard wood spear was a formable weapon. Homo Erectus successfully hunted big game and adapted to every ecosystem in Southern Europe.
This character is a story telling tool and you can use him in any script that calls for “CAVEMAN” or “ANCIENT HUMAN” or “PRE-HUMAN”. Although Homo Erectus probably did not speak I have included a complete set of lip-sync poses so you can use this character in scripts with dialogue.
Dress him in a blue suite, police uniform, or college professor outfit and have some fun with him. He would make a great sub-human villein.
