Codeine molecule 3D model

Codeine (formula C18H21NO3, CAS number 76-57-3) is an opiate used to treat mild to moderate degrees of pain. It is metabolised in the the liver into morphine. Common side effects include vomiting, constipation, itchiness, lightheadedness, breathing difficulties and addiction.
