Name: Arthropitys Bistrata
Period: Carboniferous to Early Triassic. 318.1 to 247.2 million years ago.
This Variation: 1 of 5. This is a High Poly model. A Low Poly version is also available.
Notes: An extinct species of calamitacean equisetale (Horsetail Tree). It is the largest known calamite and also one of the most complete in the fossil record. A petrified fossil forest can be found in Germany. The genus existed from the Carboniferous (Bashkirian) until the Early Triassic (Olenekian). Specimens have been found in many places in Europe, Asia, Russia and North America.
