Java cedar is a fast-growing, medium to fairly large, usually deciduous tree with a dense, rounded crown; it can range in size from 36 - 150 ft tall. It is native to East Asia, specifically China, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Utilised from the wild, especially for its timber, it is also often grown in plantations and is planted as an ornamental in several parts of the tropics.The fresh bark is used to treat aching stomachs, and the sap of the bark, mixed with lime, is used to treat sore feet.
