The T13 “Beano” grenade was an experimental hand grenade developed by the United States during World War II, designed to combine effectiveness with ease of use. Nicknamed “Beano” after the popular baseball, the grenade’s round shape was intentionally modeled after a baseball to take advantage of the natural throwing motion of American soldiers, many of whom grew up playing the sport.
Although the T13 “Beano” never saw official wartime deployment, it remains a remarkable example of mid-20th century American experimental weapon design. Its innovative impact fuze and baseball-inspired ergonomics reflected the era’s push for intuitive, soldier-friendly munitions, ideas that would later influence future ordnance development. Today, surviving examples are rare collector’s items, often displayed in museums as symbols of both ingenuity and the hazards of wartime innovation.
This 3D model faithfully recreates the T13 Beano grenade with high attention to historical detail including engraved lot markings, realistic paint wear, oxidized metal textures, and authentic materials that replicate years of age and handling. Perfect for realistic FPS games, cinematic renders, historical reconstructions, or educational projects, this asset captures the look and feel of a unique piece of World War II ordnance history.
