DESCRIPTION

9N24 high explosive fragmentation submunition.
For 9M79-1 missile with 9N123K cluster warhead of the “Tochka-U” missile system (ballistic missile).

Tactical and technical characteristics
The 9H24 cluster munition has the following characteristics:

  • Weight: 7.45 kg
  • Weight of explosive: 1.45 kg
  • Explosive material: A-IX-2
  • Approximate number of fragments: 316
  • Average weight of a fragment: 7 g.

The 9N123K cluster warhead of the 9M79-1 missile of the Tochka-U
tactical missile system opens at an altitude of about 2250 meters, scattering 50 cluster
warheads of high-explosive fragmentation action - 9N24 submunitions.
The submunitions ejects about 316 pieces of fragments upon explosion.
The warhead has a 9E237 contact fuze, which is activated when the warhead is
ejected from the warhead container. The warhead is stabilized into a vertical
position in flight by attached nylon straps. The fuze is triggered upon impact
with a hard surface (ground, etc.) at an angle of contact between 25° and 90°.
The fuze has a self-destruct function, which should guarantee the detonation
of the warhead in 32...60 seconds after ejection from the container.
This munition was actively and indiscriminately used by the Russian Federation
in 2022 during the invasion of Ukraine. It was responsible for the massacre
of civilians at the railway station in Kramatorsk city.

The set includes three model variations. Two of them are assembled
(working position and compact with the fuze detonated). In addition,
the third variant - compact in transport version - passive fuse, monolithic version
without assembly parts for ease of manufacture of this version of the moulage.
Model dimensions 374(620)x88(163) mm. (original size).
The model is made in SolidWorks 2012. It is primarily for 3D printing of a stand model.
For use as a visual aid and is not a complete copy of the external forms of the original product,
although it displays all the necessary elements. Adapted for the possibility of 3D printing and
subsequent assembly of the product layout. The model is an assembly model, contains all
conditional parts files (STL) in high-polygonal version to obtain qualitatively smooth forms.
Additionally, the set contains all files for obtaining high-quality realistic close-up rendering
(smooth lines, selected, prepared surfaces - for applying materials or textures - Assigned materials
surfaces with conditional color markings), see the image of models and examples of 3D rendering
results in specialized professional applications (KeyShot). Additionally,
the set contains marking textures - inscriptions to be applied to surfaces
(see rendering examples). In addition to solid model file formats,
converted highly detailed polygonal file formats are additionally available.

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
