This model is based on the proportions of the sword from the original visual novel: Fate/Stay Night.

Saber usually hides this sword in a sheath of wind to keep her identity a secret, seeing as how she is one of the most famous and recognizable of all the heroic spirits. But when she unleashes the full power of her sword and speaks its true name, the sword is revealed in all it's glory, glowing with golden light. The golden light of Excalibur can match the world ending power of Gilgamesh's Enuma Elish and completely annihilate most foes, hence the title of Sword of Promised Victory.

Athuria's last act before her death was asking for Excalibur to be returned where it was taken from.
