Description:The Type 99 10 cm Mountain Gun was a mountain gun used by the Imperial Japanese Army in the Second Sino-Japanese War and during the Pacific War of 1939-1945 became. The designation Type 99 points to the year of development, the year Koki 2599 or 1939 according to the Gregorian calendar. The Type 99 was the successor to the Type 94 75 mm mountain gun , which was produced in large numbers by Japanese standards . Although the Type 94 was a robust and popular gun, its shells lacked explosive power due to the 75mm calibre. For this reason, a 105 mm caliber mountain gun was developed in 1938, officially accepted into the troops in 1939 and produced by the Osaka Arsenal from 1940 . A special feature of the Type 99 was its low weight. Compared to guns of the same caliber, e.g. the Type 91 10 cm Howitzer , which weighed 1500 kg, the Type 99 only weighed 830 kg. The weight reduction could be achieved by using the special Type 100 light HE grenade (HE =High Explosive was used, which used a three -part propellant charge . In total, the shell including propellant weighed 12.6 kg, compared to the Type 94 shell, which weighed 6.4 kg, almost twice as much. The Type 99 was easily and quickly dismantled into several parts and could be transported by seven or ten pack animals, but had a short range of around 5500 meters, which severely limited its possible uses. Only 132 Type 99s were produced. An unusual spar (in the shape of a tuning fork ) with a spur at the endwas, gave the gun stability when firing. The metal shield attached for protection had a thickness of 3 mm.The Type 99 remained in service until the end of the war in 1945

Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal

No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.

Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.

Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.

UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
