DESCRIPTION

THE SHIFT PORCELAIN SERIES ORIGINATED FROM A TEA SET HAND MADE BY APPARATUS CO-FOUNDER JEREMY ANDERSON. AFTER BEING INTRODUCED TO THE MOROCCAN RITUAL OF GREETING GUESTS WITH MINT TEA, HE SOUGHT TO RECREATE THE EXPERIENCE FOR CLIENTS VISITING THE NYC STUDIO.

OUR PORCELAIN IS HAND-THROWN IN SMALL BATCHES, WITH A FIVE-PART GLAZING PROCESS. THREE LAYERS OF MATTE BLACK UNDERGLAZE ARE APPLIED BY HAND, THEN MASKED AND DIPPED INTO CONTRASTING SATIN WHITE GLAZE.
