DESCRIPTION
  • The conventional production process of aluminium wire rods comprises a first step of hot rolling, in which coils of wire rods are formed, followed by a discontinuous solution treatment and quenching of the coils obtained by hot rolling.
  • To turn that aluminium ingot into a wire for use in cables, a process called wire drawing is used.
  • Drawing involves pulling the metal through a die which incrementally reduces the diameter of the metal, while also increasing its length
  • Aluminium is most commonly alloyed with copper, zinc, magnesium, silicon, manganese and lithium.
  • Small additions of chromium, titanium, zirconium, lead, bismuth and nickel are also made and iron is invariably present in small quantities
  • Aluminium and copper metals are used in making electrical wires as they are good conductor of electricity and they are ductile(i.e.they can be drawn into thin wires).
  • Number of Polygons:73896
  • Number of Vertices:80012
  • Low Poly
  • Textures Format: PNG
