A parametrically shaped sunlouge made of oak and linen. Fit for outdoor sitting and relaxation. This sun lounge is a masterclass in parametric minimalism, blending organic fluidly with rigid structural logic. It is less a piece of furniture and more a rhythmic, skeletal installation.
Structural CompositionThe design utilizes a series of tapered timber ribs, likely CNC-milled from high-grade birch or oak laminate. Each rib is uniquely profiled, transitioning from a delicate, pointed foot that meets the ground with surgical precision to an elegant, upward-sweeping fin. These fins create a semi-enclosed, protective cocoon, offering a sense of privacy through their repetitive, gill-like spacing.
Materiality and FormThe Shell: A central, pristine white reclining surface—likely a weatherproof composite or high-tension fabric—is integrated into the wooden frame. Its smooth, concave geometry provides a sharp visual counterpoint to the textured, rhythmic repetition of the timber.
The Ocular Void: An elliptical aperture is carved through the upper section of the ribs. This detail is purely architectural, intended to frame the sky for the occupant while lightening the visual mass of the headrest.
The result is a sophisticated interplay of light and shadow. It is an assertive statement of biomorphic architecture, designed for a space where the furniture is expected to be as intellectually stimulating as the building itself.
