A pouf (from the French pouf), an ottoman is a piece of furniture for seating one person, without a backrest and armrests, with a soft or semi-soft seat [1], which can be folding or removable, with a storage compartment located under it. The seat is round, rectangular or square [1]. The frame is completely covered with fabric [2]. The legs are short. Can be used instead of a bench or as a footrest. A frameless pouf is called a beanbag chair.
It appeared in its present form in France around 1845 and at first had the shape of a giant circular sofa with a tapered back in the center (fr. Borne), was popular during the 19th century, while the central back of borne was overgrown with decorations by the middle of the century [3].
