DESCRIPTION

Variation 3 - High - poly model of Gyromitra for usage in VFX. This mushroom has different names such as brain mushroom, turban fungus, elephant ears, and beefsteak mushroom / morel. German term lorchel is a result of the older lorche, itself from the 18th century Low German Lorken, aligning with the similar-sounding (and similar-looking) morchel. Other names include: Frühjahrs-Giftlorchel, Frühjahrslorchel, Frühlorchel, Giftlorchel, hongo bonete, falsa colmenilla, Gyromitra esculenta, fausse morille, gyromitre fausse morille, bobausis. Its top has a shapless, or rather a shape that resembbes brain or greek nut. It can be of 5-20cm in size. This particular one was around 8-10cm in size.It has some poison, but if you boil it 3 times its ok to eat it. Has slightly crunchy texture at least if you compare it to other mushrooms. Some also dry it and use its powder. It grous in Europ and north america. Likes quite sandy soil. Its edable (with specific preparations) in some countries and considered poisonous in other contries. The fungus was first named in 1800, by mycologist Christian Hendrik Persoon, as Helvella esculenta, and gained its current accepted binomial name when the Swedish mycologist Elias Magnus Fries placed it in the genus Gyromitra in 1849. The genus name is derived from the Greek terms gyros round and mitra headband Its specific epithet is derived from the Latin esculentus, edible. The model was obtaines using photogrammetry so espetialy good textures where captured. Delighting was performed to get cleaner color texture. Includes normal maps, height map, Ambient oclussion map, and extra bump map. Metalness and rufness are mabe out of bump map, so one can just use blaack / whte color if need be. Original textures come at 8k png, and 4k jpg are provided. The topology of model is all triangles derived from decimation master in Zbrush. (low poly / quad verssions are coming latter as seperate models)

Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras

Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal

No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.

Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.

UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
