DESCRIPTION

The famous modern archietectural design.Church of LightThe Church of the Light is a testament to Tadao Ando's architectural philosophy, blending minimalism with spirituality. Located in Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture, the church is a small structure on the corner of two streets, measuring only 113 square meters. It consists of three concrete cubes, each penetrated by a wall angled at 15°, creating a chapel and entrance area. The benches and floor boards are made of re-purposed scaffolding, and a cruciform is cut into the concrete behind the altar, lit during the day. The church's design allows for natural light to illuminate the space, creating a profound, meditative environment for prayer and reflection.
