El Giza is a city in Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile, not far from Cairo. The famous Egyptian monuments are located on the Giza plateau, including a complex of three high pyramids - the tombs of the pharaohs, built in the 26th century BC. e. Pharaoh Khufu is buried in the largest pyramid, which is called the Great. There is also the Great Sphinx - a huge sculpture of a lion with a human head - and the Solar Boat Museum, which exhibits a restored boat made of cedar, which was discovered under the Great Pyramid.
