Created as a small digital art project, the AT&T Mod 1 Picturephone model is a digital replica/recreation of the classic vintage-style picturephone's of the past.
The AT&T Mod 1 Picturephone was a pioneering video communication device that was first introduced to the public in 1964. It was designed to allow people to see and talk to each other in real-time over long distances, using a network of dedicated telephone lines. The device featured a small video screen and a camera mounted on top, allowing users to view each other while speaking. Despite its innovative technology and promising potential, the Picturephone did not gain widespread adoption due to its high cost and limited availability. Nonetheless, it paved the way for future developments in video conferencing and laid the groundwork for the communication technologies we use today.
