A high quality 3D model of a Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)
A solid oxide fuel cell (or SOFC) is an electrochemical conversion device that produces electricity directly from oxidizing a fuel. Fuel cells are characterized by their electrolyte material; the SOFC has a solid oxide or ceramic electrolyte.
Advantages of this class of fuel cells include high combined heat and power efficiency, long-term stability, fuel flexibility, low emissions, and relatively low cost. The largest disadvantage is the high operating temperature which results in longer start-up times and mechanical and chemical compatibility issues.
We modeled this in the style of 3D illustrations, as it was used for a high-end infographical animation. You have the freedom to use the entire model, or just extract elements such as the modules inside of the casing, as these look similar to servers, computer components, or other electronic devices, there are also buttons on the side, which can be removed easily.
The model is great to use in your games, films as CGI, VR, or animations. It's low poly but holds enough detail to place into a scene for a realistic CGI element.
Technical Specifications:
File Formats: MB, MA, OBJ, FBX, STL, VRSCENE
Other than Autodesk Maya, file types (OBJ, FBX, STL, VRSCENE) include only standard materials without advanced shaders or materials. All textures are included.
Whether you're a student, educator, or designer aiming for simplicity in your projects, this Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) model serves as an accessible and valuable resource.
