DESCRIPTION

What we have here is a very accurate 3D CAD model of a 1960's [ 1962 mostly] Fender Stratocaster. This model has been put together with the explicit intention of being a reliable source for manufacture by cnc and/or hand tools of a vintage USA Strat. It was made from measurements of my actual strat as well as others i came across while making and repairing electric guitars in the 1980's. Great care has been taken in getting it right. [i take my strats very seriously]. I have not made any texture packs or materials as i am only concerned with the geometry and the fit of the components. Over the years, i have made so many edits, changes, tweaks and improvements that i have actually lost track of all of them. Hence me changed the narrative here to be an accurate 3d model of an early 60's strat as that is the most accurate way to represent what we have here.

If you would like any modifications or edits to the geometry, please feel free to contact me and i will be happy to assist you further. I also provide an A0 size PDF plan including all sizes, dimensions with a full list of components and where to purchase them. This has been a true labour of love and i provide it for you here so that you will not need to go to all the insane trouble i have gone to, to get a decent Vintage strat in these modern times! Worth noting here is that i have looked at the other strat's avaiable on the net and i just cant find one that even come close to this one. enjoy!

update 30/04/2021Thanks to Sitamiso for spotting a mistake in the neck/fingerboard profile geometry. I originally drew this neck in 2012 and since then have made numerous changes to the neck on client requests. I would never have looked this closely at the neck again so am very grateful for his eagly eye. I have corrected the neck models and uploaded the asm in 2 versions. step and parasolid.

Good luck with building your strat...for me...its just the best guitar in the world ;)

update 26/06/2021On client request, uploaded step and iges model called vintage stratocaster, this is the same model but including strings and tremolo arm.
