DESCRIPTION

This is a Dell Quietkey RT7D5JTW keyboard, in AZERTY layout (French), modelled from real-life reference.

This keyboard was a standard 104-key rubber-dome keyboard known for its quiet typing experience and solid build quality. It was released in the 1990s.

It is modelled to real-world dimensions, text layouts have been created using photo capture to guarantee accuracy, and it has been textured in Substance Painter.

The model is fairly low-poly and can also be optimally subdivided thanks to its topology, allowing for extremely close shots.

Model characteristics:

  • Base mesh: 19,137 vertices / 37,211 edges / 18,189 faces / 36,400 triangles / 115 individual objects when entirely separated.
  • One UV map for the top case and keys, another UV map for the bottom case, pads and legs.
  • Topology: all quads, and edge creases all set up to allow for optimal subdivision surface.
  • Each leg can be rotated individually. Each leg consists in two encapsulated sub-legs that can rotate independently, like the real keyboard.
  • 3 texture variants (Brand new, Used, Old).
  • Vertex colors to quickly work with individual mesh sets: case / keys / pads / white section on the top right with some lights
