AquaWoman - Mera

Mera is the crown princess of the underwater kingdom of Xebel, the former Queen of Atlantis and the wife of the hero Aquaman. Aquawoman is a female counterpart to Aquaman. This name is often attributed to his wife Mera, despite her rarely using the alias. Aquaman asked Mera to be the face of the political campaign between Atlantis and the Surface World, which she accepted. Mera decided to fully embrace her new role as she donned the same Atlantean Chainmail as Arthur and began calling herself Aquawoman, but this moniker was short lived.

Anna Curry uses this name in the gender-swapped universe Earth-11.Earth-11 is the name given to the Earth, and the universe that contains this particular Earth, in which the superhuman populace are of the reverse sexes to the superhuman populace of New Earth. Earth-11 is a part of the 52 Multiverse. Earth 11 houses (among severeal other female heroes) Anna Curry AKA Aquawoman, member of Justice Incarnate. This female version appeared for the first time in the storyline Countdown tie-in issue The Search for Ray Palmer: Superwoman/Batwoman, as a female version of Aquaman, which is shown to reside on Earth-11. Anna, is physically similar to Joseph Curry, and commands the armies of Atlantis. The Aquawoman of the slightly revised Earth-11 appears in The Multiversity #1 (2014) as one of the assembled heroes of the Multiverse who have come together to save it from destruction.
