    total noob question, but how do I open up the rigged model in blender so i can alter it's pose without adding a rigging myself?

      I think you can't open rigged in 3ds max model with max biped in Blender. You need to re-rig it in blender again.

        doh! i'm struggling a lot getting some models rigged, so i'd hoped this was an easy way to get a pre-rigged model so i could just do the posing. I guess it's back to the drawingboard/blender and googling on how to succeed in rigging it!
