Knight Character Male

Knight Character Male Low-poly 3D model

Description

NOTE: Only the model Rigged_Knight_low is rigged. The rest of the models are not, and are meant for those who plan to rig the model themselves.

High poly model included!

It works well with real-time

On this marketplace I generally strive for high-quality low poly / optimized models with a certain level of realism.

They are generally all made in the same style so that they may possibly be used in a single project without looking out of place.

This, as mentioned is best suited for current generation games, but the models should look and function for most projects, regardless of weather they are intended to be real-time or not. ** What is the poly count?**

The poly count is indeed 24,914 polys. This is however LOD0! Which is relatively standard for a hero character which will be in main focus of the player. The model is however made to work well with automatic LODs, which are supported by both Unity and Unreal. Please also note that the beard is a large part of the poly count, so if optimisation is an issue, feel free to remove the beard.

Are parts of the model modular?

Yes, the sword and the cup are separated from the character and can be used as standalone items.

Can the model be used in Unreal and Unity?

Yes! The model is made to work well with both engines and pertains to PBR textures so it should looks nice in all rendering engines. Regarding the rig. In total there are 2 rigs. One is a generic humanoid rig for any animations you might want to put on the model.

More importantly, the second rig is made to function well with Unitys mecanim system! This means that you can buy animations on the Unity asset store and apply them directly to the character without any work!

Hi Kenny! Yes a maya rig is available. I don't remember exactly whether a .ma file is included in the zip file. But in the case that it is not included, feel free to contact me at milos.baskic98@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to send you the maya rig too. Thanks for the question, All the best, Milos

Hi loveless! Thanks for reaching out. Let me addressee the questions you had one by one: What is the poly count? The poly count is indeed 24,914 polys. This is however LOD0! Feel free to ask if anything is unclear.

Hi, can you update description of this project to include polygon count (25000?) and if some parts like armor or sword are modular (can be used in game-engines like UE4 as separated parts for items)?

The positive side is that this is the only high quality model of a landsknecht in all of the stores. Mesh doesn`t bloat your game and model still looks very detailed thanks to good textures. The biggest drawbacks are scaling issues and completely warped rig skeleton. When I imported the model to blender, I got two armatures and had to rescale all of the geometry and second (actually tied to mesh) skeleton manually. The latter skeleton is assymetrical, warped. It looks like the model must be rigged from zero. On import material is not configured. One would have to make a fresh one, using the the attached textures.
