The Red Surfer's history is presumably similar to that of his Earth-616 counterpart's. One day, Galactus died, relieving the Surfer of his duties as Galactus' Herald. However, Galactus was replaced by the Unnamable as the World Devourer. The Surfer decided to fight the Unnamable after it destroyed Earth. With the Shi'ar's help, the Surfer resurrected Galactus with circuits taken from Ultron, becoming Ultron-Galactus, to aid him. Even with Galactus' help, the Surfer struggled against the Unnamable and expended nearly all of his power, causing him to age and his skin turn red in color. Needing help, the Surfer formed the Heralds with Ultron-Galactus, Thanos, and Annihilus.
