A high quality 3D model of a Full Timber Truss Roof System
A timber truss roof is a structural framework of timbers designed to bridge the space above a room and to provide support for a roof. The trusses on this model occur at regular intervals, linked by longitudinal timbers such as purlins. The space between each truss is known as a bay.
This model consists of multiple elements, first the timbers (King post, tie beam, principal rafters, common rafters, rigid beam, purlins, and struts), followed by the breathable roof membrane (otherwise known as a watertight covering/underlay), tile / slate battens, then on to are the roof tiles, followed by the velux windows. We have also included brick work gable ends, and some fascia/gutter.
We originally created this model for use in a high-end animation that demonstrated the build process. However, you can extract any individual element for your own use.
The model is great to use in your games, films as CGI, VR, or animations. It's low poly but holds enough detail to place into a scene for a realistic CGI element.
