PBR realistic 3D model of a color lightbulb, suitable for renders, games and architectural visualization.

Characteristics:

  • Generic, not intended to look like any specific real world brand (copyright safe).
  • Fully customizable glass color in Unreal, Blender and MilkShape.
  • Many colors also available as extra textures, including: black, blue, green, yellow, red and white.
  • Opaque lightbulb (no structures inside the glass).
  • Compatible with subdivision (mesh smoothing) without changing its original format.
  • Base and glass use separated materials.
  • Entirely UV-mapped, with fully unwrapped UVs (non-overlapping UVs).
  • Objects and materials are descriptively and uniquely named.
  • Originally created with Maya LT, textured with Substance Painter.

  • Unreal Engine (uasset), compatible with versions from 4.24 and newer, including 5.
  • Blender 3.3.1.
  • MilkShape 1.8.4.
  • Marmoset Toolbag 3.07 Scene Bundle.
  • Fbx, obj and dae (Collada) - Require adding the textures manually after you import them in your 3D editor.
  • Fbx with simple texture - With color and height (bump) textures only, to allow better visualization on fbx viewers (embedding other textures would not be portable across applications).

Unreal Engine format specifics:

  • Demo map included.
  • Included one example blueprint (single-player) that suggests how to dynamically change the model characteristics (emissivity and glass color).
  • Included material instances allow you to change the emissivity and colors by adjusting simple parameters.
  • No third-party plugins needed.

Geometry:

  • Sealed geometry (no open edges).
  • No ngons (tris and quads only).
  • No vertex is connected to more than 5 edges.
  • Compatible with subdivision (mesh smoothing) without changing its original format.
  • Total poly count is 2065 polys and 2066 vertices.
  • Unreal format (uasset) supports triangles only.

Materials and textures:

  • Two materials: MatLightBulb and MatGlass.
  • All textures are png, 4096 x 4096 pixels (4K textures).
  • UV map designed to minimize UV seams.
  • Blender, Marmoset and MilkShape formats use relative texture paths.
  • Blender, Marmoset and MilkShape glass material implementations allow changing the glass color regardless of textures. To use textures on the glass, just assign the MatLightBulb material to it.
  • PBR textures set: color (no alpha channel), directx normal map, openGL normal map, height, metalness, ambient occlusion, roughness and ORM (composite ambient occlusion (R) + roughness (G) + metalness (B)).
  • Extra PBR color textures: black, black light off, dark blue, dark cyan, dark green dark magenta, dark orange, dark red, dark yellow, blue, cyan, green, grey, magenta, orange, red, white and yellow.
  • Unreal format uses 3 PBR textures: color (no alpha channel), directx normal map and ORM.
  • Blender format uses 5 PBR textures: color (no alpha channel), height, ambient occlusion, metalness and roughness.
  • Marmoset format uses 3 PBR textures: color (no alpha channel), opengl normal map and ORM.
  • MilkShape format uses the color PBR texture only.
  • Exchange formats (obj, fbx, dae): no embeded textures, so you can import them from the PBR set, in accordance to the requirements of the 3D editor you use.
  • The textured extra fbx format embeds color and height (bump) textures, only, as embedding other textures would not be portable across applications.

Preview images:

  • Preview images depict the actual model, no retouching.
  • Preview Blender images are rendered with Cycles.

Units and measurement:

  • Real world scale.
  • Unit system is metric (centimeters).
  • Full model dimensions: 5.9 cm (width) x 10.1 cm (height) x 5.9 cm (deep).

Additional notes:

  • Preview images are rendered in Marmoset 3, unless otherwise informed.
  • Fbx and obj formats were exported by Maya LT. Collada (dae) format was exported by Blender.
  • The lit effect seen on some preview images is done by setting the emissive property of the glass material. No extra light source is added with this purpose.
