Animated Common Octopus

Animated Common Octopus Low-poly 3D model

Description

High-quality, game ready octopus. Fully animated and with PBR textures. Colors and shape are based on the common octopus, Octopus Vulgaris.

Includes armature-based swimming animation which loops seamlessly at 76 frames. Also included are two mesh animations: breathing cycle and skin-stretching cycle. The breathing animation opens and closes the funnels and surrounding tissue on either side of the head. In the skin-stretching animation, the top layer of skin grows and shrinks around the tentacles. These features can be controlled via shapekeys, and come pre-animated in natural, seamlessly-looping cycles.

Armature contains 124 bones. Each tentacle is fully rigged and weighted with 15 bones each, allowing for full control of their movements. The head contains four bones. The full armature layout can be seen in the preview images.

Model has clean topology and is optimized for subdivision. Wireframe preview images show the base mesh (34,578 vertices). Textured preview images show the model with one level of subdivision applied.

The model includes 4K, PBR textures: color, normal, and subsurface maps. The UV layout is non-overlapping and is displayed in the preview images.
