DESCRIPTION

This was a model I made inspired on an aircraft that appears on the Amulet's comics (the Albatross from Book one The Stonekeeper) which is an American manga series illustrated and written by Kazu Kibuishi and published by Scholastic.

This aircraft model is ready to be used on an anime/cartoon/comics-style animation or other ends as it is shaded to have a cartoon feel to it! I have made a small animation and a 360º turntable so you can understand the style I used better and hopefully you'll enjoy using it on your projects as much as I did making it!

Models included on this project:

  • The Aircraft (Albatross) [fitted with x4 seats, steering wheels, pedals, speed indicator, front and back wheels, wheel doors, propellers and flaps];
  • Harpoon & Rope attached;
  • Harpoon Gun;
  • Ray Gun;
  • Tranquilizer Gun & Ammo;
  • Knife;
  • Radio Box & Communicator;
  • Ladder;

Q&A:

Q. Which program did you use to create the model?A. Blender version 2.93 and it is the one I recommed you to use if you buy this model, but it is not a must.

Q. Which render engine did you use?A. Eevee.

Q. Is the model rigged and animated?A. The model is completely rigged as you can see on the previews and the little animation I made. It is not however animated, as the animation is solely for showcase purposes.

Q. What are the types of files that I will get?A. I exported two .blend files, an .fbx file and an .obj file.Since the technique I used requires the use of the solidify modifier to increase or decrease the toon shaded line around the objects I provide you a .zip file with the original .blend file without the modifiers applied so you can either remove the toon outline (by removing the modifier), or increase/decrease the line size (simply click on the object you want -> Modifiers -> increase or decrease size of the solidify).

Q. Can a similar effect to the toon line be achieved without the use of the modifier?A. Yes. You can, for instance in Blender, use the Freestyle option and render your model. It will create an outline. I simply think the method I used looks more cartoon/anime-like and it will take much less time to render.

Q. Do the .fbx and .obj files also import with all the settings adjusted?A. If you're using Blender I recommend using the .blend files for better results. Apparently the .fbx file imports the armature but at least on blender the materials used need to be appended as that information is not saved. The .obj file may also be used to import the model, however the armature will not be loaded.

Q. Will the files work in other 3D software such as 3DMAX, Maya, Cinema 4D, Modo, etc?**A. **Yes, however I'm quite sure each program has its ways of importing files and feel free to contact me in case you need a different export file type.

I am Mr. Vault and I'm hopping to inspire you to create wonderful experiences by taking flight on this stylized aircraft! The possibilities in the 3D world are opening new creative ways to explore incredible designs, so why wait!?Feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Once you buy the model feel free to use it. Let me know what kind of cool stuff you're working on and if you can leave a mention! Thank you!
