DESCRIPTION

The Lockheed NF-104A is a high-quality, photo-real 3D model of the highly specialized aerospace trainer used by the USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School in the 1960s. Derived from the F-104 Starfighter, this Aero-Space Trainer (AST) was designed to fly at the edge of space to train future astronauts. This asset captures the distinctive modifications of the NF-104A, including the enlarged vertical stabilizer, the extended wingtips housing Reaction Control System (RCS) thrusters, and the prominent rocket engine nozzle at the base of the tail. The model is presented in a professional natural metal finish with high-visibility international orange markings and authentic USAF insignia.

The model is built with high-accuracy geometry and utilizes clean, base-color shading suitable for various lighting environments. All renders are provided without post-processing.

Suitable for all major 3D software suites, including Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, and Unreal Engine. Ideal for historical space-race simulations, experimental aviation documentaries, and high-fidelity aerospace visualizations.

Features:

High-quality polygonal model, correctly scaled to represent the specialized dimensions of the NF-104A trainer.

Model is fully textured with all materials applied to the fuselage, extended wings, and propulsion systems.

Accurate representation of the dual-propulsion setup: the standard J79 turbojet and the LR121/AR2-3 rocket engine at the tail.

Detailed Reaction Control System (RCS) thruster pods located at the nose and on the extended wingtips.

Authentic USAF livery with high-vis orange sections and U.S. AIR FORCE markings.

Detailed cockpit glazing and realistic landing gear assembly in the extended position.

All textures and materials are included in the package.

Blender objects are logically named and organized for easy scene integration.

No cleanup is required—the model is ready for immediate use in your project.
