DESCRIPTION

This high poly model is build very near to scale and is within a couple of percent of the actual dimensions. It has a detailed exterior including radio antennas and pitot tubes. Landing gear have been finished with a moderate amount of detail too. The model is fully textured and comes with all materials and textures. In addition this model comes with animateable ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, landing gear, landing gear doors and turbines. The model is available in several different formats for immediate downloading here. We are providing the DC-9-20 model in a range of liveries.

The series 50 (DC-9-50) was a lengthened version of the DC-9-40 with 8’2” added to the center fuselage. This version carried up to 125 passengers. It was powered by 2 Pratt and Whitney JT8D-15 or JT8D-17 engines providing 16000 or 16500 pounds thrust each. These were delivered beginning 1975 the first going to Eastern Airlines. These were the largest variant of the Douglas DC-9 aircraft family. The C-9-50 was a military version of the DC-9-50 built for US armed forces. The follow on variants of the DC-9-50 were developed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft after McDonnell had purchased the Douglas Aircraft Company. Several variants were developed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as the MD-80, 81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89,90. A final variant was developed by Boeing as the Boeing 717 as the Boeing Aircraft Company had purchased McDonnell Douglas.
