DESCRIPTION

This model comes fully textured, with all materials and textures. The turbines, flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators and landing gear are animateable. Landing gear can also be hidden for gear up flight. It is built near to scale and available in several formats.

The Douglas DC-8 was a rival of the 707 series. It was developed at the same time and was very similar in design and capabilities. DC-8 was historic and popular with airlines. The first DC-8 flew in 1957. These aircraft had a good safety record and were used in main airline routes until late in the 1970s. Many were modified to carry freight for many years after their passenger carrying service was over. Some are still flying in a freighter role 50 years after their initial development.
