DESCRIPTION

The model is an interpreting reconstruction of the real building using blueprints and data from my own research!

1:1 scale, highly detailed (BUT NOT EXACT!) reconstruction of the Cologne Cathedral, based on 40 blueprints from the 19th century.I built the cathedral in 2017 (roughly five months) using SketchUp.

The model has a full hierachy of components/instances and layers.

Other file formats (FBX, OBJ,...) are on demand because of the enormous exporting time and file size. This files can reach a size from 6 GB up to 20 GB depending on the level of detail you want.

In theory a great model with horrible execution. 26GB for the FBX file says a lot for a single building. The Model was build with no trought put into it at all. It took me 12h to load the model into Blender on a high end system. The model which I saw wa build of thousends of individual pieces all with hundrets and hundrets of double verts. Joind the step by step and removed all doubles. Vert Count reduced by 95%! Filesize 280mb! Next issue, Textures: Countles Textures the size of 2x6 or even smaller. Ther was put alot effort into the geometry with absolutly no idea how to create 3D Models. Definitly not worth the asked price!
