Our Solar System Free 3D print model

This is a model of our solar system. My daughter had to make a solar system model for school, and she thought the Makerbot would be useful in this endeavor. The inner and outer planets are in scale with each other.

The plants and sun are scaled for TOM. Print the plants and sun, join both halves together with glue or solvent weld them. My daughter used abs dissolved in acetone for creating the textures of the plants. I used aluminum rods to hold the planets. To insert the rods I heated them over a flame and stuck them into the planet while still hot.
