It was born in 1933 after an architectural competition, which was won by architect Georg Fasting from Bergen. The first was set up on Amerikalinjens docked in Oslo. A restored version is currently set up at near-native space (see photo). Only after the war spread this kiosk type to the rest of the country. The location of public telephone boxes always took into account the public safety and should provide easy access to a doctor, midwife, police and fire. They were an obvious staple among apartment blocks in the 60s suburbs, at railway stations and at numerous ferry ports. The public telephone kiosk was primarily a service, and profitability came in second place. The last kiosk was produced in 1995. In total it has been produced about 9,000 copies of this kind, and many are still in use. The design has remained without changes, except for the weight: The first kiosks weighed 800 kg, while later editions weighed less than half. It has been drawn up its own protection plan for telephone boxes, here's a hundred kiosks guard around the country
