Detailed model of a Star Wars original trilogy era Imperial Tie-Fighter.
Geometry and Rigging
The model consists of thirteen meshes attached to a single armature, with a total of 151,751 vertices and 135,993 faces.
Six control bones allow animation of the main steering yoke, the alignment of the front view screen, and the main top hatch; with an additional 51 rigged bones for the hinge on the hatch and the hoses on the control yoke.
Materials and Textures
The model is split into five separate materials - Fuselage, Interior, Wing Left, Wing Right, and Exhausts. Each is fully unwrapped with non-overlapping UVs and has colour, metallic, roughness, normal, and ambient occlusion maps. The Fuselage material also comes with a transparency map, the Interior and Exhausts materials also come with emission maps. The Fuselage, Interior, and Wing textures are all 4k, the Exhaust textures are 1k.
The materials were designed and created in Blender for use with Cycles but they should work in any renderer that supports the PRB metallic workflow.
