Inertial Hammock

Inertial Hammock 3D model

Description

The inertial hammock is a relief device for high-G maneuvering supravehicles with autoadaptive body positioning along the acceleration/decceleration vector. The human is locked into position by expansive bracelets with autolocking. Fibernet rest mat facilitates maximal ventilation around the body unit. A composite fiber mesh carcass offloads the hammock frame.

Liquid ration dispenser, 3D visor with hand controls and a sanitation/purification adapter are included in the device and allow continuous stays within an actively accelerating and maneuvering vehicle for up to a week. The hammock is constructed to the mobile command bridge standard.

Two versions provided: Mental Ray with Arch & Design and Scanline with standard Max materials. A mannequin is included. The model poly count given is for the unsubdivided hammock only. Model is animated with bracelet unlocking and a skinned visor cable. Model has diffuse, specular and bump mapping. HDR used for reflections. Model is adapted for realtime graphics, all textures power of two, standard Max materials used. Rendered in Scanline mode, model will render as seen in previews. Lense effects added in Photoshop. Layered PSD maps included for customisation.

Concept and design by the artist. 3D Studio Max 9 file.
