DESCRIPTION

Heavy two-chamber ion engine of the second generation with magnetic protection of anode grids and natural emission of electrons for mainline transports and other heavy ships. Thanks to the use of anode grids in a cross-magnetic field, it is possible to extend the service life up to 100,000 hours. The rated thrust is 2 * 2000 Newtons, while the power consumed is 60 Megawatts. This low power consumption can be achieved due to the rejection of active cathode tubes and the use of secondary and parasitic currents for power supply. Estimated working time 10-12 years. The divergence of the ion beam is only 7 degrees per camera, which is an excellent indicator of density even for the propulsion systems of large warships. All this makes it attractive to use these engines for long-distance transportation of goods at minimal cost. The engine successfully works in twin-couplers with chemical and magnetic starting devices. It has proven itself in unfavorable operating conditions, when used both inside the ship's hull and on the external sling, with the condition of being protected by additional screens.
