I am using this Robot Droid in Unreal 5.1 and its working awesome. You can assign Skeletons of the UE 4 Mannequin to it and the marketplace Animations will work out of the box. The details in this model are awesome and its 100% looking like the model you see in the pictures. Perfect work for a super price.I highly recommend the Droid.
It's a really beautiful model, one of the best I've looked at inside UE.
But it does not work properly in Unreal Engine with Marketplace animations. I think there's a problem with how the legs or root is rigged in the UE version of the model?
The upper body behaves correctly when retargeting animations, but the foot placement is all over the place, sometimes clipping through the ground, sometimes stepping above the ground surface, all within the same animation.
When the robot's feet are placed level with the ground, there's no shadow from the foot and calf that's closest to the light source. The shadow starts around the knee. Also, in the thumbnails for both the SK mesh, and the BP, the character appears clipping through the ground at around thigh level, which is abnormal for UE4 characters.
I inquired about these issues, but I never got a response from the creator.
I have successfully used a different model from the creator in UE (which had none of these problems), so I would advise the creator to remove the UE-heavy promotion on this model, unless he's able to fix these problems.
For consumers, I would advise against purchasing this for UE specifically, unless you are a modeler / rigger and can fix whatever isn't working correctly.
