Suchomimus was a large, fish-eating theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, around 125 to 112 million years ago. It measured up to 11 meters (36 feet) in length and had a long, crocodile-like snout filled with conical teeth, which were adapted for catching fish. Suchomimus likely lived near rivers and lakes, leading a semi-aquatic lifestyle, and also had powerful forelimbs with large claws for grabbing prey. Its elongated body and sail-like ridge along its back suggest it was well-adapted to life near water. Fossils of Suchomimus were discovered in Niger, Africa, giving paleontologists valuable insights into the evolution of spinosaurid dinosaurs.
