Here is a longer description of the race, fleet and ships that I wrote while developing the models:
Hive mind= Increase in coordination of fleets = more complexity of formations.
+production = larger fleets= reliance on large intergrated fleets rather than individual units.
fleet doctrine= engage with overwhelming number of ships. Dreadnaughts/flagship/WarSun tries to maintian maximum distance to opposing fleet while firing main weapons.
carriers dispatch fighters and remain behind the core of the fleet.
Cruisers advance in groups of 2 or 3 and harass enemy capital ships, main goal is to destract and delay rather than damage.
Detroyers advance in front of fleet and screen for fighters and missiles, if enemy fighters penetrate allied formation destroyers return to fleet to help defend.
Fighters stay near the core of the fleet to engage enemy fighters as larger capital ships tend to lack PDC coverage.
Ship specs.= domes are ++ well shileded. domes are basically CC centers for ship systems, they hold hivemind extensions.
They are redundant so a ship is functional as long as one dome is intact although ship may be less efficient.
Dark Green areas on hull =armored sections.
Light Green areas are exhaust vents, hanger openings or blast ports.
Blast port= if a ship system is damaged or explodes the blast is directed out of these ports so that the whole ship is not destroyed.
War Sun= 8 heavy photon beam emiters, 8 PDC's, 8 missile launchers, 16 hangers,
1 engine, 8 hivemind extensions, Energy core extendes from the front of the ship down
the center axis to about mid ship, blast ports at front of the ship.
Flagship = 1 heavy stern mounted photon beam emiter, 12 PDC, 4 medium photon beam emiters
2 missile launchers, 5 hivemind extensions, 4 hangers, 8 engines, heavily armoured underside
vents for main beam weapon on front of ship, energy core between the fore dome and the main dome
with blast vents.
Dreadnaught = 1 heavy stern mounted photon beam emiter, 6 PDC's 2 missile launchers, 4 hangers
4 engines, 5 hivemind extensions. Main weapon vents in front of ship, blast ports protecting main dome,
energy core just behind main dome with blast ports/vents above. Dreadnaughts lack PDC coverage on underside,
when in fleets with 2 or more they fight underside to underside with fighters providing protection between them.
Carrier = 1 missile launcher, 4 PDC's, 2 engines, 2 hangers, 3 hivemind extensions. The first out section contains the
energy cores with blast ports behind, the second outsection contains storage+life support systems for the fighter wings or land troops,
the last outsection contains the hagers either with fighters and/or with ground troops+drop ships.
Cruiser = 2 medium photon beam emiters, 2 PDC's, 2 engines, 3 hivemind extensions. Energy core between
fore dome and main dome with blast ports above. Extra blast ports behind main dome.
Destroyer = 2 PDC's 1 medium photon beam emitter, 2 engines, one hevemind extension. Main energy core is in the nose of the ship with blast ports.
The destroyer does not use the beam weapon often as it requires a significant percentage of the power and the ship cannot use the engines or the PDC's while firing
unless the destroyer has no other choice it will leave attacking the other capital ships to the more capable ships in the fleet.
Fighter = 2 main cannons, 2 anti capital ship missiles, one engine. energy core in front of the ship with exhaust ports.
