How to know the number of polygons and vertices of an STL file

Discussion started by mrsameero

since there are some models that are made by equation driven modelling, such as in Solidworks or Inventor, you can't really know how much polygons or vertices there are in that model if you saved it as .STL file, I've discovered this way by a coincidence.

You'll need your android phone or tablet for this, just login to play store and search for (Graphite), you'll find it with a white 3d G symbol as shown in the picture.

then, after you install it, you'll have to open the .STL file on your android using Graphite program.

It'll load, then you can press the info button up-top to show information of the part, you'll see everything including face count (number of polys) and vertex count.

That's all, I hope that was helpful for you guys.

Thanks!
